It’s held in May - one more reason to arrive during the off-peak season. As excursion destinations, we recommend the fishing village of Los Boliches with its exhibition center and famous market, dreamy Granada with its magnificent complex of Moorish rulers, the Alhambra, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Generalife Gardens.

If you’re keen to see the Corrida de toros for yourself, the place to go is the historic walled city of Ronda, about an hour and a half’s drive away. It’s one of the oldest bullfighting centers with a tradition still alive.
